Step by step support over 3 sessions to build staff knowledge, skills and confidence
Our innovative Integration Training combines running class sessions with training your teachers. This is a fantastic way to develop staff confidence as they are outside delivering lessons are part of their training.
This training is delivered over the course of three sessions, with ongoing support for a full year. Sessions last around 45 minutes outdoors, followed by a15 minute one-to-one meeting between your individual teachers and us to provide support and guidance. This allows around 3-5 teachers in depth support over one day.
After sessions, we’re available by email to provide additional support and answer any pressing questions. This continues for a full twelve months from the first training day.a
Session 1
This is delivered by Carol, a fully qualified and experienced teacher, with support from the class teacher. The focus will be agreed in advance with the teacher.
Throughout this session, Carol will demonstrate high quality outdoor learning approaches, behaviour and recall methods and more.
The session is then evaluated by Carol and your class teacher before planning session 2 together.
Session 2
This session is a team teaching session with Carol and your class teacher.
It is designed to allow the class teacher to begin to take some responsibility for learning and build their confidence while benefitting from support throughout.
Your teacher and Carol then evaluate together. Thereafter, Carol supports your teacher as they take increased responsibility for planning the final session.
Session 3
This session is delivered by your class teacher, with Carol there to observe and support them if necessary.
This session is designed to build confidence and help teachers experience and understand how to manage a lesson outside on their own with the added reassurance of an experienced and knowledgeable expert on hand for guidance.
This session is then evaluated and feedback provided.
From the start of the training, you have 12 months of access to our membership website, which provides ideas, lessons, activities, curricular plans, progression pathways and more. This gives your teachers all the tools necessary to make planning high-quality outdoor lessons simple and truly integrate outdoor learning within the curriculum.
