1st November: Diwali

5th November: Guy Fawkes / Bonfire Night
Bonfire Night is a fantastic opportunity to teach fire safety and enjoy outdoor cooking. Why not explore fire safety lessons with our Fire Risk Assessment and then have fun making Banana Boats or Sweet Caramelised Apples?
6th November: Stress Awareness Day

7th November: Outdoor Classroom Day
Outdoor Classroom Day is a global movement to encourage schools to embrace the great outdoors as a place for learning (which is what we do here at Love Outdoor Learning!). 8th November: National STEM Day

11th November: Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day is a time to reflect and honour those who have died in the line of duty. You can incorporate outdoor learning into your commemorations with our Remembrance Day Lesson.
11th – 15th November: Anti-Bullying Week
Anti-Bullying Week is a great opportunity to build trust and teamwork in the outdoors. Our Trusting Trees: Co-operation lesson encourages supporting one another while working together in nature.
11th – 22nd November: COP29
COP29 is the 29th annual Conference of the Parties under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). This global summit brings together leaders, scientists, and activists to discuss and take action on climate change. It’s an important time to engage students in outdoor activities that highlight the importance of sustainability and environmental protection. Use this week to explore topics like biodiversity, climate science, and the role of forests and oceans in mitigating climate change. Encourage your students to become climate champions by participating in activities such as tree planting, climate impact investigations, or creating nature-based solutions to reduce their carbon footprint.
13th November: World Kindness Day
World Kindness Day is the perfect chance to introduce nature-inspired acts of kindness. From planting flowers for pollinators to making kindness rocks, our blog 5 Nature Ideas for Random Acts of Kindness Week has plenty of outdoor activities to spread kindness.
17th – 23rd November: Road Safety Week
Road Safety Week is a great time to teach children the importance of being aware of their surroundings, particularly when it comes to roads and vehicles. Engage your students with interactive lessons like our Easter Egg Experiment for Road Safety, which demonstrates the effects of speed and impact. 30th November: St. Andrew’s Day
St. Andrew’s Day is Scotland’s official national day, celebrated in honour of the country’s patron saint. It’s a time to embrace Scottish culture, heritage, and traditions, with events ranging from ceilidhs to feasts across the country. Take learning outdoors and celebrate Scotland’s rich history with a hands-on twist. Try incorporating outdoor STEM activities with a Scottish theme, such as our St. Andrew’s Day STEM Lesson, which blends science and Scottish heritage.
