I am sat today looking out the window. The sun is shining, there is a clear blue sky and a deep frost on the grass and trees!
Yup, winter is most certainly on it’s way.
I was chatting to a friend about this recently and that it is the time of year we want to curl up and cosy in. Big jumpers, hot chocolate and log fires are the order of the day.
But, all those things feel so much better after time out in the cold!
There is a sense of togetherness when coming back in from the cold. You know everyone feels the same, the tingly fingers and rosy red noses. And this year, maybe more than ever, is a time to feel that sense.
So, what can you do outside?
Well, you can always take a walk, explore the early signs of winter. We might even have a wee scavenger hunt at the end of this blog just for you! Scavenger hunts are great fun for all ages. They set a challenge but they can also help us learn. So why not download it and get out to enjoy it.
Walk at this time of year can also be stunning. But so often, children will moan, wanting to be in the warm and often gaming. So why not set a challenge, use the walk to collect natural materials to make your own Christmas decorations.

Our pictures might be enough to inspire you but if you need some support in creating these then you can always purchase our Christmas Crafts pack, which contains these and more!
Of course, there is nothing quite like curling up with a hot chocolate after time outdoors. Getting cosy and just spending some time together before getting on with your next task of the day. But whatever you get up to, we hope you are getting out and enjoying the early signs of winter!
